Webtec completes £600k capital investment programme.
Webtec has recently taken delivery of two new CNC horizontal machining centres and a robotic pallet loader at the factory in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, UK.
The two new Matsuura HPlus405 machines and additional Fastems robotic pallet changing system (shown below) enhance two existing flexible manufact-uring cells and complete a £600k capital investment programme that started last year. The investment was initiated as part of a strategic plan to upgrade and increase capacity, with the objective of enhancing customer service levels both through improved delivery performance and improved flexibility, and to cope with increasing demand for custom product variations.
The state-of-the-art CNC machines were successfully installed and commissioned during September and October 2008, and are being used to manufacture predominantly cast iron and aluminium components for both of the company’s product lines: hydraulic components and hydraulic test equipment..
